Professional Experience:

-Started a company -Sayyab in 2002 started a line of modest Islamic dressing for Muslim women and young girls in the Bay Area, this company was funded by a venture capitalist who taught me the basics of entrepreneurship, at the age of 24 yrs. This exposure taught me how to create and identify gaps in the market, how to do extensive research, how to build a company from an idea into a product, through RND.  Sayyab pioneered the way to providing a clothing solution to second and third generation Muslim American women who needed modest wearable and comfortable clothing and was very well received by the American Muslim Markets

-Dubai Real Estate, worked with many prominent real state companies in Dubai with 11 years ‘experience in the field, created a portfolio for clients for over 50 million US dollars annually and was the first batch of licensed brokers in Dubai. Have extensive experiences in Sales and product development. Worked with architects and was also responsible for the MEP work for many homes in Dubai.

- Currently in Karachi Pakistan, started a startup called Oraati, in response to the vastly over commercial Fabric and textile market. Oraati and undergone many hurdles, yet is now a registered entity and steadily  expandeing, currently I am a returning student at the age of 50yrs to Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture in their four year BA degree program in Textiles.

I have vast international experience in two main spheres, one is the Textile Industry and the other is the real estate industry in all three countries I have lived in ie. USA, Dubai and Pakistan.

Main aim is to teach the next generation about the value of entrepreneurship and creating informed and research base business decisions. Inspiring the youth and women who are afraid to go out on their own, only with regards to fear, with twenty- five years of international business experience behind me, as a returning expat, I would like to impart this knowledge especially in terms of women’s empowerment

Have been interviewed by TV1 channel – Asfar morning shows on inspiring women to believe in themselves encouraging them to start their own businesses from home.

Also, to help women and the youth aspire for something greater, and not be afraid of failure.

This is the legacy I carry forward, to serve and to build unashamedly and forcefully a force of entrepreneurs who can change the landscape of Pakistan not only nationally but internationally as well.
